Why Am I Doing This Challenge?
It's difficult to put into words really. In some ways I wish we were not doing the challenge, that would mean Aman my 2 year old cousin and Steve, a close family friend would still be with us. I guess I just feel I wish I could have done more to help those closest to Aman and Steve. This is my way of trying to make a difference. All the money we raise will be split between the Meningitis trust and the Stroke Association.
Aman died of meningitis at just 2 years old. When my mum phoned me to tell me he had died I had no idea he had been poorly it changed so many people's lives. In less than 24 hours this awful disease had taken him from us. My clearest memory of Aman was in his cool white shirt at the family Christmas party, I have spent 43 years trying to look cool and failed! Aman was as cool as they come. You will see from the photos on the site he was a happy loveable lad. Could the money we raise help research into beating meningitis? I really think it could. It is impossible to accept he has gone, but hopefully we can make some small difference with the funds we raise.

On the day Julie my wife phoned me to tell me the shocking news that Steve had died my world changed again. Steve has been a friend for over 25 years. He helped me in my early days at Royal Mail and from there became a very trusted family friend.Sam and Kens Coast to Coast 140 Mile Cycle Challenge
As you go through life you meet many people you get on with and like, but there aren't too many people you would truly trust with your life. Think about it, who would you trust with your life? Well, Steve was one of those people I would do just that.
He would often moan about helping out, but my god he would moan more if you didn't ask him! There are so many odd jobs he`s done around our house he certainly won't be forgotten. But I remember his humor more than anything; he just had this incredible ability to make you laugh. There are so many fond memories; one web page just won't be enough space to do him justice.
Steve died suddenly following a stroke brought on by an aneurism I firmly believe any funds we raise for the Stroke Association will help battle the illness in the future.

We are going to enjoy the build up as much as the event itself. Please join Sam and me on this rollercoaster journey. An Email address has been set up for people who knew Steve and Aman to send their memories to us, we will publish them over the next few weeks. tributes@bodyhealthuk.com
